Huge Reminder, Push the Button!

We just completed a "step 1, step 2, etc" Alert to walk you through the changes.  Again, read, think, implement.  It is simple and easy.  Think as it is part of your Mexican pre-flight list.

We had an intensive workshop on both Whales trips where AFAC and Migracion were discussed in depth.  It was heavy and informative.  Those that attended and did the RTI (read, think, implement) got it and had little problems

NOTICE:  Effective January 1, 2024, there have been several changes to entry / departure procedures in Mexico.  These changes have not been reflected in any information on this website other than in ALERTS.  Editing will be done as soon as the dust settles
Changes include:

  • A 180 day AIU authorization that has to be sent and received from Mexico City       (Form is in the eAPIS program, the AIU is now being enforced.
  • A 30 minute resend at time of door close to Mexico City Immigration.

Please be advised, we will continue to provide these Alerts to our members as things continue to change.

Baja Bush Pilots Members can review all BBP Alerts regarding these issues by going into ALERTS on this website.

For detailed information, go to  BBP Alert, 12/18/23  in "Alerts"

The BBP "Adventure Kit" out sells everything else in our store.
Why? Because when you purchase this kit, your get our 2020 Edition of Airports of Mexico, a Border Crossing Card, a Border Crossing Cheat Sheet, a BBP Cap, a Caribbean (Mexico / Central America) L1-L2 Enroute Low Altitude chart and.... a one year membership in the BBP.

Still running with an older BBP Airport guide book? (or without one) This just might be the time to freshen up all your BBP stuff at one small reasonable price.

While you are in our Store checking out our sweat shirts, be sure to look at our cool BBP T-Shirts, BBP Caps, our original Khaki Denim BBP button-down shirt and, and, and....  You just have to take a look.

And if you only want the guide book, it is there also.  Also known as the "Red Book, it is all new for 2020.

Information has been checked and re-checked and we have added more Mexican airports including the soon to open airport at Creel.

Also, for the curious, we have added all the ICAO airports in Cuba.  Not that US pilots will be landing there, it is for our foreign members as well as those that overfly Cuba and are looking for an emergency landing place (no problem)

Go to the Store to see more.

Mexican Liability insurance
The BBP now provides Mexican Liability insurance for aircraft that are not older than 50 years.  This is a change as in the past, our underwriter allowed aircraft between 50 and 60 years old to be insured through a special application process.  In addition, in a major change, our underwriters will not write insurance on some aircraft including helicopters.  See exclusions on our application form,
There are some US underwriters in the US that do cover Mexico's liability requirements.  If your aircraft is more than 50 years old, this could be a solution.
